Letters to your former self
11 MayCelebrities were asked to write letters to their former selves. the kinda of teenagers age selves. Here are two of my favorite people’s letters to themselves, John Waters Sandra Bernhard and, sandwiched in-between is my own letter to my formers selves. This is a great exercise were in my case you really can evaluate the short distance you have come.
Hi Everyone
Firstly esprit de l’escalier. This French phrase literally means ‘spirit of the staircase’ I think you all know what I mean. Id like to say don’t worry it will all end up all right but the truth is it didn’t, all your fears have come true, and you are now living with them. You have even become fat!
Pedze. This comes from a Swiss dialect word for resin or glue. It refers to someone who stays too long in one place, or simply to a guest who long overstays his welcome. Pedze is what you have become. It is though you have been Hexenschuss. (This German word literally means ‘shot by a witch’ ) As you can see I have become very worldly and have a foreign phrase for all occasions.
